We conduct research on behalf of our customers from a wide range of economic and political sectors and apply the latest findings from science and research to concrete projects. The applications are in the fields of defence, security and resilience, automotive, aerospace and aviation.
Aufgaben:
  • You will develop physics-based models and efficient algorithms for our CFD tool, the »APOLLO Blastsimulator« ( Apollo Blastsimulator ), thus expanding our services in the field of hydrogen safety. This also includes improving our interfaces for fluid-structure coupled simulations with e.g., LS-Dyna or our finite element code SOPHIA. In your day to day work, you will closely collaborate with the interdisciplinary »APOLLO Blastsimulator« development team.
  • You will become the qualified and competent contact person for our internal and external customers in the field of hydrogen safety. You will also have the opportunity to shape the future development and marketing of our simulation tools. Your work will be rounded off by managing projects with public and industrial clients
  • Creativity requires a lot of communication: we want to shape teamwork together with you: You are an active participant of the scientific discourse. You will coordinate research work internally and externally with international project partners and present your research results through reports and publications to our clients and partners as well as at national and international conferences.
Qualifikationen:
  • You have completed a university degree (Master/Diploma) in Engineering, an applied natural science or a related STEM subject, PhDs welcome.
  • You have profound knowledge in both fluid and thermo dynamics as well as in numerical methods for CFD and structural mechanics.
  • You are able to conduct simulation studies on HPC systems on your own, ideally with OpenFOAM or Ansys Fluent, you have experience in programming (Fortran, C++) and you know relevant IDEs and parallelization strategies.
  • You use your ability to think and work analytically and conceptually in a results-oriented manner.
  • With your independent, communicative and structured way of working, you enrich the interdisciplinary teamwork of our department.
  • German and English language skills of at least C1 level in spoken and written round off your profile.
